GovReports Upgrade – Single Touch Payroll Phase 2

We are rolling out Single Touch Payroll Phase 2!

All employers have to report STP pay events for all employees and closely held payees from July 2021.

The ATO STP Phase 2 was initially planned to start on 1 July 2021 with the compulsory reporting, however, it has been postponed to 1 January 2022 because of COVID-19 impacts on business and software providers.

GovReports New Release – Activity Statement Summary

We are very pleased to announce the release of our new feature, the Activity Statement Summary.

This report provides a summary of all activity statement lodgements with the ATO for each financial year since 2001, the start of GST reporting.

This is particularly useful where a new client may have had statements lodged by a variety of methods – via GovReports, by their own business portal, by another registered agent or directly from SBR enabled software. You can now see all lodgements from within GovReports, regardless of who lodged and how the statements were originally lodged.

Unresolved JobKeeper Issues and Single Touch Payroll

JobKeeper eligibility relies on correct Single Touch Payroll (STP) data. What if information reported via STP is incorrect?

As Single Touch Payroll data (for most employers) is submitted via Standard Business Reporting (SBR) enabled software such as GovReports, or directly from STP enabled payroll software, errors must first be corrected either within the payroll or SBR software and then lodged again with the ATO.
